As promised, I went ahead and worked on putting up a potentiall nyew business of software forum, targetd at Micro-ISVers, small business owners, developers, and aspiring antrepeneurs. I wanted to keep the benefits of the existing forum – a clean interface, fast loading, and easy to use. I also added the features the community seemed to find most critical:
- Anonomous posting allowed
- insert images
- edit your posts after
I also included a few nice extras like Gravatar support, more profile options, and more ways to include contact information about yourself. Please let me know what changes you would like to see, and I'll see if I can include them.

Find another name than "Business of Software" or people will confuse things…

Point taken, switched over to software startups for now while I think on other names… ideas welcome

It seems that the BOS moderators(Andy Brice) have already deleted the post that points to this forum. I had to check my history to find this.
How is that fair moderation? He is a complete arse.

Yeah I saw that too. I think it was only a couple of hours after I posted the link here. I probably don't have enough blog traffic (yet) to build up a decent Micro-ISV forum on my own, but I'll leave it here for now and see if any people find their way in.

Thanks for setting this up, CharlieB! I know it's brand new but hopefully this can become the best place for micro-ISV / startup discussion.

Heh, just tried to find this forum searching for "microisv forum" and it wasn't on Google's first two pages. But "micro isv forum" worked. Perhaps just adding this very post will help Google find it better. :-)

thanks! Let me see if I can improve my keyword hits for microisv forum as well…
Well, updated the URL with a 301 redirect from /discuss to /microisv-and-small-business-forum which may help some. Also updated the Title to just be MicroISV without a dash, so that may also improve it in the SERPs. I'll monitor and see what comes up!
